Cassata Florida Concessions at Palace Playland

We operate all the fun games inside Palace Playland, one of the premier amusement parks in southern Maine!  Located right on Old Orchard Beach we have a 24,000 square foot arcade, the largest in New England! With more than 200 games and attractions, the arcade has games from Skeeball and Fortune Tellers to the latest in coupon skill games and coin-operated video. The games area is right near the boardwalk and only about 100 feet from the ocean.  This is a true summer season, boardwalk environment and is a fun place to work! 

We are looking for students who are outgoing, have a fun and bubbly personality, who have advanced English and are comfortable talking with customers and engaging them with our games!   This job requires a lot of customer interaction and is nonstop fun and hard work.  Working as a Game Attendant at Palace Playland you’ll have excellent chances to meet thousands of tourists (domestic and international), make new friends with other Work & Travel students, and explore New England!

Voted Maine's Best Beach annually!  Old Orchard Beach, or “The Garden by the Sea”, is a busy, family-friendly resort location having over 100,000 national and international visitors yearly.  Spend your days exploring the Old Orchard Pier, extending 500 feet into the Atlantic which contains many restaurants, shops, sights to see, and games to play.  The low surf makes this a favorite spot for swimming, sunbathing, or learning to surf. With plenty to do this summer, it’s almost impossible not to have fun at Old Orchard Beach!

·        An OOB classic is their Pier Fries, which were originally located on the Pier, but now can be found at the edge of Old Orchard Street in the historic Whitehall Building.

·        OOB’s Pier Casino Ballroom and Palace Ballroom hosted many big band era acts such as Duke Ellington and Lawrence Welk.  Check out the Harmon Museum for a great exhibit on big bands!

·        During the summer, plan on fireworks shows on the beach every Thursday!

·        You can take the Amtrak Downeaster to Freeport, ME for great outlet shopping and the home of L. L. Bean!


Weather in Old Orchard Beach:


Maine experiences a hot and humid climate during the summer months.  Daytime high temperatures are around 75–80°F (24–27°C) with night lows in the high 50s°F (around 15 °C). The temperatures seldom stays hot at night, which is great for sleeping! Rain is common on the coast, so make sure you have a raincoat!  You might want to take a sweater or light jacket, because the air is cool near the water at night. How to Get There

Please contact us with travel plans before arriving in the US!  Students must arrive between 8am (08h) and 6pm (18h)


·        Students can fly into Boston Logan Airport (BOS) which should be the cheapest airfare.   Once landing in Boston, students can take the Concord Coach Lines to Portland, ME.  They will need to purchase a ticket, which should cost about $25 US.  At the Concord station in Portland, we will pick-up the students and take them to their housing in Old Orchard Beach. 

o    If arriving afterhours, students will need to book accommodation in Boston. 

·        Students can also fly into Portland International Jetport (PWM).  We will arrange to pick you up at the Jetport.
