Xanterra - Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center features 148 guestrooms and 53 cottages and is nestled along the water's edge of Salt Fork Lake in Lore City, Ohio. This is a very remote location with no public transportation into town, so the employer will provide town trips to Cambridge, Ohio each week.


This is a great location for students who love the nature and hiking as Salt Fork State Park offers 14 miles of outdoor hiking trails. Periodically throughout the summer, this employer will take students to the beach on Salt Fork Lake, Ohio's largest inland beach which offers swimming, fishing and boat rentals. Students will have limited access to the indoor pool and fitness center depending on business levels. *Please understand that this is not a city setting or lifestyle location. This location is best suited for students who enjoy nature and the outdoors. You are in a great area to be able to travel around to other cities, but the location is NOT in a city and will need planning and transportation to get there. This is a nature lover’s dream job!

What is the weather like in Ohio?

Employer will arrange weekly bus trips to Cambridge, Ohio for $2.00 per student and periodic trips to the beach at Salt Fork Lake. In past seasons, the Employer has arranged a group trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH. In 2017, the employer has plans on a trip for students to visit Columbus, OH and Pittsburgh, PA!

How to Get There

Students should communicate their travel plans to their employer at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. It is recommended that students arrive into the airport Monday-Friday no later than 6:00pm to Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, Ohio. From the airport, students will take a bus into Cambridge, Ohio. The Employer will pick you up from the bus stop in Cambridge, Ohio Monday-Friday ONLY no later than 6:00pm. Please visit or for busses from the airport to Cambridge.


If students arrive after 9:00pm, they must make arrangements to stay in a hotel near the airport. We recommend accommodations at the Days Inn, which offers reasonable rates and a FREE shuttle from the airport to the hotel, located at 750 Stelzer Road, Columbus, OH 43219. Rates start from $79.00 per night per room.
