Williamsburg is a small city, but NOT a bustling city like New York City.  This is quieter, but very beautiful.  Please be prepared for a slower pace of life, but you'll have an amazing time!  There's lot to do, many people to meet, and you're central to lots of close-by locations.

How to Get There

Students must register with the housing vendor and confirm the dates and times of arrival at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Students should fly into Norfolk International Airport (ORF) in Norfolk, VA and check into housing on the date of their job offer form (or, one day before). This will be ONLY Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. You MUST arrive on the date on your job offer form.


Various transportation services are available from the airport to Williamsburg, VA, including the Amtrak Train, airport shuttles, and taxi cabs. Prices can range from about $25.00 to $50.00 per person and students are responsible for payment. The employer will provide contact information of housing vendor to students and email students directly regarding specific arrival instructions.


*There is no early check-in to the housing prior to the date on your job offer form. If students arrive outside of set arrival dates and hours, they should arrange to stay in Norfolk until the day before their check-in at housing. Students can take a free shuttle from the Norfolk International Airport and stay the night at the Econo Lodge Airport Hotel at 3343 North Military Highway, Norfolk, VA 23518. Students should expect to pay about $60.00 for a hotel room.
