Weather:

 

Maine experiences a humid continental climate with warm (although generally not hot), humid. During the summer months, daytime highs are generally in the 75–80°F (24–27°C) range throughout the state with overnight lows in the high 50s°F (around 15 °C). The temperatures seldom stays hot at night, which is great for sleeping! You might want to take a sweater or light jacket, because the air is cool near the water at night.

How to Get There

Please contact your employer with travel plans before arriving in the US!

 

·        Students can fly into Boston Logan Airport (BOS) which will be the cheapest airfare.   From the airport, switch to the MBTA to take the Silver Line (SL1) to South Station and change to the Red Line towards Alewife.  At the “Downtown Crossing” stop, switch to the Orange Line which will take students to North Station.  From North Station, students can find the Amtrak Downeaster and ask an agent for a ticket to Old Orchard, ME.  The trip should cost about $34-$40 US. 

o    If arriving afterhours (between 7pm (19h) and 7am (07h)), students will need to book accommodation in Boston. 

·        Students can also fly into Portland International Jetport (PWM).  From the Jetport take an Uber, Lyft, or Taxi to the Amtrak Downeaster station, where they’ll ask the agent for a ticket to Old Orchard, ME.  The trip should cost less than $20 US. 

o    If arriving after hours (between 7pm (19h) and 7am (07h)), they’ll need to find accommodation in Portland, ME.
