Xanterra Parks & Resorts operates the Trail Ridge Gift Store, located in Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado. Within the Park, Trail Ridge Road is the nation’s highest s continuously paved roadway, leading through some of the country’s most scenic landscapes. It reaches a height of 3,713 meters and features over 350 miles of hiking trails, five distinct ecosystems, majestic mountain ranges, emerald lakes, waterfalls and abundant wildlife.


Outdoor activities in the area include hiking and rock climbing, fishing, horseback riding, camping, sightseeing and wildlife watching. Employees reside in the beautiful resort town of Estes Park, which has many restaurants, gift shops and attractions, including a water park, outdoor amphitheater (concerts & festivals) and a movie theater. We’re in a national park – we’re remote, but exceptionally beautiful with lots of hiking and outdoor activities.  If you love nature, you’ll love this location. Since the housing is located in Estes Park, there is an opportunity for 2nd jobs outside of your normal schedule with us. This will typically be at nights and on your days, and CANNOT interfere with your schedule with Trail Ridge. Your schedule with Trail Ridge may change weekly. Set schedules are not guaranteed.

What is the weather like in Estes Park, Colorado?

Summer is Estes Park is just about perfect weather. The average July temperature is 55°F (13°C) in the morning and 90°F (32°C) in the afternoon. What to wear during this time of year? Layers, layers, layers. On sunny days, you’ll want to wear short-sleeved shirts and shorts. During the mornings and evenings outdoors, you will need to add a sweatshirt or light jacket. How to Get There

Students should communicate their travel plans with the employer at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Students can either fly into Denver International Airport (DEN) in Denver, CO, or take a bus or train to Denver, CO for arrival between 10:00am-4:00pm for employer pick-up. You MUST arrive into Denver by 5:00pm to catch the last acceptable shuttle at 7:00pm. 

If you arrive after the time to catch the 7:00pm shuttle you MUST arrange for a hotel room near the airport, at your expense and prepare to depart FROM the airport to catch the shuttle the next day. No one will be here to let you into the dorms if you catch any shuttle after 7:00pm.
