Roosevelt Inn

The Roosevelt Inn is a small, family owned and operated hotel, located in Keystone, SD, which has been serving visitors to Mt. Rushmore since 1991. The Roosevelt Inn is named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, who is among the presidents honored at the Mt. Rushmore National Memorial.

What is the weather like in South Dakota?


South Dakota has a continental climate with four distinct seasons, ranging from cold, dry winters to hot and semi-humid summers. During the summers, the average high temperature throughout the state is often close to 90°F (32°C), although it cools to near 60°F (15°C) at night. It is not unusual for South Dakota to have severe hot, dry spells in the summer with the temperature climbing above 100°F (38°C) several times every year. How to Get There

Students must check-in with their employer at least 2 weeks prior to arrival with their travel plans. It is recommended that students fly into Rapid City Regional Airport (RAC) in Rapid City, SD and the employer will pick them up. If students do not fly into Rapid City Regional Airport, they must take a Greyhound bus to Rapid City, SD and the employer will pick them up at the bus station.
