Cape Cod is a 399 mile peninsula extending 35 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean. Known simply as "The Cape," this area serves as THE summer playground for New Englanders. Students, singles, and families are welcomed for the summer season.
Cape Cod offers many opportunities: Unique, trendy, upscale shops, a booming arts scene, four-star restaurants, good nightlife, wooded bicycle paths, and an endless array of land and sea activities.
Off the coast, the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket have maintained their history as old whaling and trade destinations, while becoming the stomping grounds of America's celebrities and wealthiest families. Expect only the finest of everything from these two communities.
Important Information:
· The town of Provincetown is known throughout New England for its huge gay community and crazy nightlife.
· The only Social Security Office on the Cape is in Hyannis.
· Even though the cape doesn’t seem very big, with summer traffic it can take up to 5 hours to get from the beginning of the cape to the end.
· Be sure to have your student I.D. because various businesses on the Cape offer discounts to students.
